How are you accountable?
We spoke earlier about goals and motivation - setting yourself something that you want to achieve, and then understanding WHY that is important to you so that you are motivated to achieve your goal. But how do you hold yourself accountable? Do you set yourself a timeline of small achievements?
We work with our clients to understand their goals and why they mean something to them. But we also then take it to the next level and make them accountable. By setting small targets along the way and aiming for small improvements, it adds up to big changes and success.
Accountability milestones don’t need to be complicated - if you wish to get stronger, aim to increase your weights every week or two. If you wish to get fitter, aim to start jogging/walking and slowly add a small run, then increase the time you run each session. If you wish to lose fat, then take your measures each month to track your progress. But most importantly, set yourself a date for the reassessment.
By having a deadline to meet, you are more likely to work harder to meet your goal knowing that it will be measured in the near future.
Have a go and let us know what works for you. :)
