Breaking down those goals

How often do you set yourself a goal, start working on it with great intentions, only to fall off the wagon and give up after a week or two? I work with my clients on setting realistic measurable goals, but then breaking those goals down into smaller monthly targets. This way the goal seems achievable and attainable and you are not as overwhelmed by the effort required.

Here's an example.

If you say you want to lose 20kg it can sound a lot of hard work. But if you say 20kg in a year, that gives you 12 months to achieve that goal.

So monthly goals would be 1.6kg per month, which is only approx 400g per week.

Doesn't that sound more achievable!!!

Break that goal down into smaller pieces and watch your success.
